The Flute

I am the flute

Spirit flows gently
through
me

a
song is born
which
has
never been
played
before

flowers and trees
dance

the breeze
carries the tune

other flutes
join
this
symphony

and
together
we play
the
song
of
the
Universe

I Was in Love with Love

I was in love with love
but love

was a stranger
to me

As a child I was told
that
love hurts
so I believed
that it did

When my heart bled
I called it Love

When it broke
I cried in the name of Love

Love never
let me down
It hurt, I cried

and thus went
my love affair with Love

One day I awoke
and found
this Love was an impostor
I had been lied to

Love doesn't hurt
Love loves

Love clothed me in beauty
and
wrapped itself
around my
heart

I cried
not from sorrow
but joy

I was no longer in love with Love

I became it

I Was Born with a Broken Heart

I looked into my mother's eyes
and my heart broke
her broken heart broke mine
"this hurts me more than it hurts you"
"you are wrong," but I could not say it

Soon I could not look into her eyes
or into anyone's
I looked down
and hung my head in sadness

Now my mother and I
walked the earth with our broken hearts

As she lay dying, I did not tell her
how long ago she broke my heart
she spoke of regrets
her heart broken to the end

All I could do was listen
when I watched her take her last breath
how sad that her heart never healed
walking slowly away, I began a journey
to heal my heart for the both of us

Wordlessness of Eternal Truth

Meet me, lover, in the clearing near
The forest of the whispering pines
The tender grass will be our bed
Of pure gold
The stars our 10,000 candles
Moonlight will reveal our
Glistening bodies
As we are captured
By love’s eternal embrace
The river of the gods
Passes there
Kneeling, we cup its waters
In our hands
We give drink to each other
The water is magical
A spell cast upon our spirits
We dance the dance which
Only true love knows
As we lay sky clad
Bodies side by side
Eyes upon the heavens
Moonlight pours forth
From our lips
Upon which now
is uttered only the
wordlessness
Of eternal truth

In the Arms of Love

In the arms of love I am warm
Her eyes are pools
my beauty reflected there

"Is Love pain?" I ask of Love
Without a word she calls me
to follow her
I resist, afraid

She turns to me, speaking
Love is not pain, my beloved
Yet all you must do for Love
can be painful

Like the farmer removes the chaff from the wheat
Love will thresh you
As the dross is burned from the gold
Love will purify your heart

My beloved, when love has
claimed you
your spirit will soar
to the heavens

Love reached out for me
once again in silence
and I followed~
unafraid

Who You Are

Who you are
Who you are is greater than what you wear
What music you listen to
What you look like
How straight your teeth are
Where you live
The number of toys you own
Even the number of friends you have

Who you are
Is
Something
New
In this world
No one can invade your uniqueness
No one can take it away
It is there even if
You don’t recognize it
Yet sometimes you won’t recognize it
Because you will be too concerned
About
The number of friends you have
The number of toys you own
Where you live
How straight your teeth are
What you look like
What music you listen to
Or what you wear.

Whispers of All

Quietly
Shhhh.......listen
Hear it....that sweet small voice whispering of
All that is known
is calling....follow her
Like a lover's kiss burned on the lips
and carried in the heart....
she beckons you...
Quietly....Shhh...close your eyes...
Listen

On the Other Side of Grief

Grief enveloped me

threatening to eclipse all light
there in the darkness
without eyes to see
my heart, aching,
broke open
crashing into a
thousand shimmering
and flawless diamonds
then I saw without eyes
heard without ears
knew without words
my heart was not broken at all
it was full, and open
The eclipse past
the light returned
my heart understood
on the other side of grief is Love

My Love is Like Water

When I looked into my lover's eyes
I met my own love in him
A drink of water in a parched desert
I drank in my love

A well discovered that can never run dry
My love now found
The desert only a mirage

Love like water
satiates my being
In my lover's eyes
I drank in
the essence of us both

Reflecting pools
where two holograms
melt into one
In our love we became One
with the other

Pulled deeper into that reflection
my lover and I
became One with
All that is

Love of All

Your love showed me
the love of All
Me loving you
you loving me
my heart burst open
to embrace the world

and I felt a love
that knows no walls
lying in the darkness
listening to your breath
my heart knew love

the love that flows
through all
and I became one
with this river of love
as it flowed through me
became me
and took me with it
to unknown destinations

I cried from the beauty
of this love
as it coursed through
my being
and opened up
the magnificence of
this oneness

The Rapture~a love poem

Our bodies did not touch
before our spirits touched

and the love that danced
through us
needed no fingers or li
ps
to meet with flesh

Yet our bodies

writhed in ecstasy
where even words
were intruders

to this rapture

The beloved light
in you
touched the beloved light
in me

all the love of the universe
healed our hearts
as we joined
in this space
as
One
